Andy Nelson captured his first regatta win over two races held on successive weekends July 17 and July 24 in very light air. Both races, in fact, were called early in mid-race after the wind died.

At the halfway point, the first race was called with Nelson in first, followed by Ki Hoffman, Grant Moos (with Oliver Ross as crew), Becca Lundberg (sailing the Putney boat) and Mariah Crabb (with Mimi Carlson as crew).

The wind died completely and everyone was towed home.

In the second race held a week later on July 24, the wind died about three-quarters through the WL4 course. We finished on a shortened upwind leg of the course with Grant Moos in first, followed by Andy Nelson, Becca Lundberg and Tommy Brandt, sailing his first race after a several year hiatus while he served in Afghanistan with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Everyone had to be towed home after this race, too.

So for the regatta, Andy Nelson took first, followed by Grant Moos in second and Becca Lundberg sailing the Putney boat in third.
